Hi slick,

Thanks for the compliment on the site - it’s been hard work :)

The Cube is a pretty cool amp - versatile, but it lacks any low end response. It can’t move the same volume of sound as a larger amp, and so the tone suffers.

The amp settings are really just a guide to get the basic sound, from there, you can make some tweaks to get a better sound that is specific to your amp.

The RX is nice because it has a full treble / mid / bass whereas the standard Micro Cube just has a tone (low/high) nob.

I don’t know what model amp you are using - but the classic stack could be a good choice. Try cutting a little of the treble, and increase the bass slightly. This should compensate for the lack of low end - but it may not be exactly what you’re after. Can you upload a sound clip or a video of you playing it - I can try and help you more if I can hear how it sounds at the moment?

Hey again,
as I said before - it’s hard to tell what’s “wrong” without hearing it.

In the video, the chap has the Les Paul in the rhythm position for the intro, which is the neck pickup - this gives you a more rich and full sound (more low end). You shouldn’t need a ton of gain, just something to push the sound over from clean. Try using the Classic Stack model, and cut the treble down a bit and turn the gain to about 6 or so.

If you can get a sound clip, that would be really helpful as I can give you more help that way.

Good luck.
